Abstract

ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS: Az Amerikai Egyesült Államok első generációs interkontinentális rakétái közül az Atlasok fejlesztője a General Dynamic/Convair volt. A légierő 1954-ben az Atlas-programot átsorolta a prioritást jelentő 1-A kategóriába. Történetük során az Atlasokat rövid időn keresztül interkontinentális ballisztikus rakétaként alkalmazták, bevetésükre azonban sohasem került sor. 1998-ban az Egyesült Államokban a Pentagon nyomására az a döntés született, hogy az Atlas V-öt hordozórakéta-családként fejlesztik tovább, a terveket és a munkálatokat a Lockheed Martin végezte. A szerző áttekintést nyújt a rakétatípus fejlesztésének történetéről és részletesen közli a műszaki adatokat és statisztikákat. ABSTRACT: Of the first generation intercontinental ballistic missile in the United States, the Atlas missile was developed by the General Dynamic/ Convair. In 1954, the US Air Force reclassified the Atlas program as priority category 1-A. Throughout their history, the Atlases have been used for a short time as an intercontinental ballistic missile, but they have never been deployed. In 1998, under pressure from the Pentagon, it was decided to further develop the Atlas V as a launcher family; design and build works were done by Lockheed Martin. The author provides an overview of the history of development and details technical data and statistics.
