Abstract

– mely első kiadásának gyors elfogyása után fél esztendővel az OTKA támogatásával utánnyomásban már ismét megjelent –, illetve az Amerikai Egyesült Államokban napvilágot látott angol kötetében [The Kingdom of Hungary and the Habsburg Monarchy in the Sixteenth Century. Boulder, Co.–Wayne, N. J.–New York, 2009. xviii, 410 p., főként 53–88., 149–153., 193–208.] tette közzé. A magyar arisztokrácia karrierlehetőségeit ugyanakkor egy tucatnyi előadásban és ugyanennyi (magyar, német és szlovák nyelvű) tanulmányban vizsgálta, elsősorban a Batthyány, Esterházy, Illésházy, Nádasdy, Pálffy, Révay, Thurzó és Zrínyi családok példáján. | The systematic archival research-project between 2006 and 2011, based on the papers of the archives in Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava, with title “The Hungarian Nobility at the Habsburg Court in Vienna and Prague in the Sixteenth Century” presented the interesting and important process, what kind of problems had the Hungarian nobility in the integration on the common court of the composite monarchy of the Habsburg dynasty in Central Europe. One of the most significant results of the project is a databank of the Hungarian noblemen, who served at the Habsburg courts between 1526 and 1612. Based on this databank Géza Pálffy analysed the difficulties with the Viennese and Prague court integration in his Hungarian monograph [A Magyar Királyság és a Habsburg Monarchia a 16. században. Bp., 2010, 564 p., esp. 77–135, 233–239, 319–350] – after the first edition sold out in a half year with the financial support of the OTKA project is published already a new reprint edition –, and in the shorter English version of the topic printed by the Columbia University Press [The Kingdom of Hungary and the Habsburg Monarchy in the Sixteenth Century. Boulder, Co.–Wayne, N. J.–New York, 2009, xviii, 410 p., esp. 53–88, 149–153, 193–208]. As result of his researches Pálffy published several (Hungarian, German and Slovak) studies on the career possibilities of the famous Hungarian aristocratic families as the Batthyány, Esterházy, Illésházy, Nádasdy, Pálffy, Révay, Thurzó and Zrínyi, too.
