Abstract

A PF 64039 számú OTKA-kutatásom célja Ivan Goncsarov három regényének (Hétköznapi történet, Oblomov, Szakadék) műfaji sajátosságait vizsgáló magyar nyelvű monográfia létrehozása volt. A műelemzések sora miatt a téma várhatóan nemcsak szűk körben tarthat számot érdeklődésre. | The aim of my OTKA-research no. PF 64039 is to create a monograph in Hungarian language analysing the genre characteristics of Ivan Goncharov’s three novels A Common Story, Oblomov, The Precipice (Ravine). During the course of research work I have elaborated on the latest literature on the subject. The method of analysis was selected in the context of the summary of specialised literature. I have compared the Goncharov novels with Pushkin's, Gogol’s and Dostojevsky’s outstanding pieces of prose and drama. During the course of intertextual analysis, I conducted an analysis of genre, narration and motive but I focused mostly on the originality of use of metaphors and semiotic processes. My assumption that in the three novels, the re-writing of western-European educational novel was followed by the perfection of Russian novel then its decomposition take place in the framework of an artistic novel was justified. The analysis of the short story Ivan Savich Podzhabrin became necessary due to the Don Juan theme connected to Goncharov’s artist characters. In addition to an outlook into the Russian folk tales (Ivan-The-Fool) and the Bylina (Ilya Muromets) tradition I have referred to some possible western-European precedent texts (Balzac, Hoffman, Tirso de Molina). Due to the many involved texts, the analysis of may be of interest to a wider audience.
