Abstract

Tanulmányomban a második világháború utáni magyarországi orthodox zsidóság társadalomtörténetének térbeli dimenzióit próbálom bemutatni egy különleges forrás feldolgozásának segítségével. Forrásom, a Budapesti Autonóm Orthodox Izraelita Hitközséghez 1945 és 1971 között beadott tagjelentkezési lapok iratanyaga, mely több mint 1400 fő jelentkezését dokumentálja. Ennek segítségével egy tágabb és egy szűkebb térben vizsgálom az orthodoxia elhelyezkedését. Tágabb körben – mely egyben az idődimenzióban is egy szélesebb periódust ölel fel – a hitközségbe tagként jelentkezők Budapestre vándorlásának tendenciáit vázolom, bemutatva így a jelentkezők belső vándorlását a 19. század harmadik harmadától a második világháborút követő évtizedekig. Majd ezt követően a jelentkezők Budapesten belüli elhelyezkedését vizsgálom, arra keresvén a választ, hogy a korábbi kutatásokban leírt szegregált megoszlás hogyan élt tovább a világháború utáni években. = The study presents the spatial dimensions of the social history of Orthodox Jews in Hungary following World War II, using a special source. This source is the document including the membership application forms submitted by 1400 persons between 1945 and 1971 to the Budapest Autonomous Orthodox Israelite Community. The wider and narrower scope of investigation concerning the localization of Orthodox Jews is made by the help of this document. The wider scope, meaning a wider time dimension, explores the tendencies of the migration to Budapest of those applying for membership of the Community. This is a display of internal migration from the last decades of the 19th century to the decades following World War II. The location of the applicants within the territory of Budapest is investigated subsequently, searching for an answer to the persistence of the segregated situation following World War II, described in previous research.
