Abstract

Magyarországon a sporttal és testneveléssel foglalkozó tudomány elnevezése közel két évtizede sporttudomány úgy, hogy tág értelmezése kiterjed a testnevelés területére is. A leszűkítés veszélye azonban ebben az elnevezésben is benne foglaltatik, már csak a sport előtag miatt is. Ugyanakkor ezt a terminológiai állásfoglalást erősíti meg az a tény is, hogy a sport tudományos kérdéseiben vezető nagyhatalmak szinte mindegyike a sporttudomány kifejezés használata mellett tette le a voksát. E tanulmány nem tudományelméleti vitát kíván generálni, hanem a testneveléstudomány terminus technicus létjogosultságát kívánja igazolni. Egy átfogó, a testneveléstudomány témában teljességre törekvő tanulmányból viszont nem maradhat ki olyan alapfogalmak elemzése, mint a kultúra, testkultúra, testi (szomatikus) nevelés, testnevelés, sport, tudomány és sporttudomány, azzal együtt sem, hogy ezen szakkifejezések fogalmi köre, tudományos beágyazottsága évtizedekre visszamenően, többszöri legitimációt nyert. = The terminology for the science related to sport and physical education has been ‘sport science’ in Hungary for about two decades and its definition is extended to the field of physical education. The danger of limiting the definition is included in the name just because of the prefix ‘sports’. At the same time, this terminological standpoint is enforced by the fact that most of the great powers dealing with the scientific questions of sport voted for the usage of ‘sport science’. The intention of this essay is not to generate a scientific-theoretical debate; it tries to make an attempt to justify the terminus technicus of ‘science of physical education’. Nevertheless, in an essay intended to be comprehensive in the field of physical education, the analysis of basic terminologies such as culture, body culture, somatic education, physical education, sport, science and sport science cannot be omitted. Nor with the meaning that the conceptual sphere and the scientific embedding of this terminology have gained repeated legitimacy in the last few decades.
