Abstract

Genetics, biosynthesis and metabolism of salicylic acid (SA) are analyzed here based on genbank data mining in silico. Amino acid compositions of plant isochorismate synthase (ICS) enzymes were found to be diverse, however, the sequence similarity dendrogram of the two ICS enzyme families of ICS1 and ICS2 showed significant differences aligned to those of Arabidopsis thaliana (thale cress). Biochemical routes of plant SA synthesis and metabolism are also analysed here.
