Abstract
THE ARCHDIOCESE OF ESZTERGOMBUDAPEST CONFERENCE CENTRE, BUDAPEST, HUNGARY; ARCHITECT: TAMÁS NÉMETH The conversion of church buildings for secular purposes is an increasingly relevant planning task these days. We encountered an unusual version of this, rich in ideas, near the Városliget in Budapest, at Damjanich utca 50. Architect Tamás Németh not only recognized the spiritual message of the original building, but also adapted it to the 21st century environment and made it an attraction of the new conference centre. The existing building restored to create administration and conference spaces with a new addition providing accommodation for visitors.
