Abstract

évében a 20. századi magyarországi fizika néhány fontos területével foglalkoztam, s igyekeztem új anyagokat is feltárni, leveleket, kéziratokat. Kutatási anyagaimat két önálló kötetben jelentettem meg, s főbb kutatási eredményeimet az interneten is közreadtam (http://mati.tudomanytortenet.hu/) | In the first two years of my research in the field of the history of science, I dealt with the antecedents of Maxwellian electrodynamics with respect to their formation and reception of the theory in Hungary. This topic has not been studied sufficiently up to now, although the views of Professor Izidor Fröhlich - one of the earliest commentators on Maxwell ? can be presented here. I have also indicated how Maxwell?s theory was accepted by the Technical University, the University of Kolozsvár, and by secondary schools, as the first dissertations and comments were published in journals, textbooks, or popular scientific works. In the third and fourth years of my research, I studied some important fields of twentieth century physics in Hungary; I also analyzed new material, letters, and manuscripts The central questions I consider are Ortvay?s work organizing scientific life, the results of the TUNGSRAM Research Laboratory, and the analysis of the activities of Hungarian experts ? often Nobel-prize winners- educated in Budapest but whose scientific careers were established abroad. I have published my research material in two volumes and the most important results of my research work on the net (http://mati.tudomanytortenet.hu/).
