Abstract

On Influences Made by the Church Unions (in Brest, 1596, and Uzhorod, 1646) on the Book-Printings and Book-Trade – As Reflected by the Way of a Copy of the First Book of ‘Sluzhebnik’ of Suprasl Typography Which Got to Hungary The article examines formation of Suprasľ typography as productive publishing institute and noted center of culture soon after the Basilians moved from Vilnius to Suprasľ in the 17th century. The title page of the first book "Liturgicon" (Sluzhebnik) was printed in Vilno in 1692. However, the body of the edition was printed in Suprasľ, which is indicated in the colophon. "Liturgicon" (1692-1695) contained engravings with the depiction of the "heart of Jesus" and other Catholic symbols; they weren't included in the reedition of the book in town of Unev (1740). Both editions are stocked in Hungary. According to the research conducted by the author in Hungarian church archives and libraries, all the Slavonic peoples of the Habsburg Empire -Orthodox Serbians, Rusyn Uniates- acquired prayer books, which in majority of cases were published in Belarussian or Ukrainian typographies.
