Abstract

The number of examinations is increasing all over the world. According to this trend the automation of the exam procedure came to the limelight in the past 15–20 years. Through the new procedure not only fairness can be assured but human work can also be replaced. In the article we classify the questions of computerized exam systems from the point of view of the answer possibilities and from the level of intelligence of the evaluation. We illustrate, through examples, active and passive question types of various chapters of mathematics. We also analyze the problems according to their different automated evaluation possibilities. Our aim is to develop a system of examination which is capable of simulating the human evaluation procedure. We wish to develop our methodology through problems involving some kind of calculation.
