Abstract
The Romanian species of the genus Trachytes Michael, 1894 are reviewed and a key to the known species is given. A new species, Trachytes mahunkai sp. n., is described and illustrated. The new species is closely related to T. micropunctata Huţu, 1973, but it possesses a sculptural pattern consists of oval, irregular pits.
