However, as lateral wave propagation in the material under test becomes significant, locally reactive assumptions fail and the standardized measurement methods become infeasible. The present contribution discusses the measurement of extendedly reactive surfaces by estimating its distributed surface impedance function and the consequent numerical prediction of the reflected sound field in a simple planar geometry. The model is validated via the measurement of a resonant panel absorber. Finally, the extension of the absorption coefficient for extended reactive surfaces is discussed. date: 2023 date_type: published publication: Forum Acusticum 2023: Proceedings of the 10th Convention of the European Acoustics Association publisher: Associazione Italiana di Acustica pagerange: 4971-4978 refereed: TRUE issn: 2221-3767 funders: Bolyai János Kutatási Ösztöndíj funders: OTKA PD-143129 funders: ÚNKP-22-5-BME-318 fp7_project: no fp7_type: info:eu-repo/semantics/article citation: Firtha, Gergely and Huszty, Csaba (2023) Measurement Based Absorption Characteristics Estimation of Extended Reactive Surfaces.
