Abstract

A kutatási témában a terület középső miocén korú földtani képződményeinek vizsgálatával foglalkoztam rétegtani egységenként földtani, rétegtani és őslénytani szempontból, felszíni, mélyfúrási és bányászati adatok alapján. A feldolgozás a korábbi alsó-miocén témám (T 026440) folytatása, amelyben már jeleztem, hogy a kárpáti emelet üledéksorára a medence ÉNy-i részén (Bántapuszta) a legidősebb bádeni (M4a) meszes-durvatörmelékes összlet disz- kordánsan települ gazdag ősmaradvány együttessel. A kutatófúrásokban sikerült az M4a szintet az egész medencében azonosítani. Bántapusztáról leírtam a „Lajtai Mészkő Formáció Ösküi Tagozatát”, míg a D-i medencéből a „Berhidai Tagozatot.” A fiatalabb alső-bádeni (M4b) erős diszkordanciával következik az alatta lévőre. A középső- és felső-bádeni képződmények vizsgálatát is elvégeztem. A szarmata rétegsor kifejlődési viszonyait és gazdag faunáját is feldolgoztam. | Brief Summary: The author studied the Middle Miocene geological formations of the area, concerning each stratigraphic unit in geological, stratigraphical and paleontological point of view, on the basis of data derived from surficial investigations, from boreholes and mining activity. This study is a continuation of the author’s previous, Lower Miocene topic ( T 026440 ), in which the he suggested that in the northwestern part of the basin (Bántapuszta) the Karpatian succession un-conformably overlain by the oldest Badenian (M4a) calcareous-coarse-clastic sequence with a rich fossil assemblage. In boreholes the M4a horizon could have been identified in the entire basin. From Bántapuszta the author has described the „Öskü Member” of the Ljta Limestone Formation” , whereas from the southern basin the „Berhida Member” of this formation. The younger Lower Badenian (M4b) covers the underlying sediments with a significant unconformity. Author has elaborated the Middle and Upper Badenian sediments, as well as the facies conditions of the Sarmatian succession and its rich fauna.
