Abstract

A kutatási támogatást a Budapest-Marburg nemzetközi doktori iskola két magyar PhD hallgatójának ösztöndíjára fordítottuk. A hallgatók személye a futamidő alatt tanévenként változott, így a beszámolásköteles tevékenység a doktori iskola több témáját is érinti. A ""Mezoszkópikus rendszerek nemegyensúlyi tulajdonságainak vizsgálata"" című kutatási program keretében kifejlesztettünk egy nemegyensúlyi iterált perturbációszámitást kétszintes kvantum pöttyöt leiró Anderson-modellre alkalmazva a szingulett-triplett átmenet leirására. A fluktuáció-kicserélődés közelitést is ebből a célból általánositottuk a nemegyensúlyi esetre. | The grant support was used to finance the fellowships of two hungarian PhD students of the Budapest-Marburg international graduate school. During the grant period the persons supported by the fellowships changed from schoolyear to schoolyear, therefore the present report touches upon several projects of the graduate school. While working on the project ""Nonequilibrium properties of mezoscopic systems"" we have developed an iterated nonequilibrium perturbation theory for an Anderson modell of a two level quantum dot, in order to describe the singlet-triplet transition. For the same purpose we have also generalized the fluctuation exchange approximation to the nonequilibrium case. Within the framework of the project ''Electron spin resonance in solids'' we have investigated among others, layered organic charge transfer salts. We have developed a new method based on electron spin resonance, which allows us to measure the perpendicular spin hopping frequency between layers. We have also determined the average exchange coupling in a salt containing magnetic ions as well. Finally, in the project ""Ground state and excited states of low dimensional magnetic systems"" we have determined the phase diagram of a spin-gapped and a multiferroic material using a suitably chosen variational wavefunction, for different coupling constants. Describing the excitations with a generalized spin wave theory we reproduced the results of electron spin resonance, THz optical and neutron scattering measurements.
