Abstract
First impressions can, as suggested, only be made once. Here the softening of Brno's Brutalist central bus station required a fine balance between the hard facts of the past and the need for a positive future message. The gesture of a wave being introduced to the design, exaggerated inred, is supported by well researched use of led lighting. The latter seems to ease up the heaviness of brutalist concrete letting it float above the public space it protects.
