Abstract
A wooden structured medieval well was excavated in 2017 near Somogybabod. The dendochronological analyses of the oak elements is relative, according to the dating between archaeological sites the well was constructed around the turn of the 14/15 C. The analyses of archaeobotanical samples collected from the mud layers brought important results. According to the crops, weed and other remains originating from natural environment the well belonged to a self-supplying farmstead. The former environment must have been a swampy waterlogged territory
