Abstract
When József Rippl-Rónai’s painting, the Adolf Hirsch portrait was transferred to the Rippl-Rónai Museum in Kaposvár in 2021, it turned out that we had no knowlegde about the identity of the model. The research revealed that he and his sons were pioneering figures in the Hungarian Fish Farming Industry. The publication presents his fruitful career honored by many awards. The Hirsch portrait has a significant place in József Rippl-Rónai’s work as it it is one of his last work in oil.
