Abstract

Akadémiatörténeti kutatásokat végeztem, ennek keretében sikerült az 1830 és 1890 között az akadémiai főtitkári hivatal által megfogalmazott, s a Régi Akadémiai Levéltárban fennmaradt akadémikusi visszaemlékezéseket felkutatnom, s számítógépre tennem, amelyhez egy adatbázist is készítettünk. Ennek segítségével az egykori nekrológok különböző szempontok szerint kereshetők vissza az interneten. A szövegeknél megtartottam az stilisztikai fordulatokat, nem modernizáltam azokat. Másik kutatásom az Akadémia egykori főtitkára, id. Szily Kálmán tudománytörténeti munkásságának feldolgozása volt. Szily indította 1890 után a már nyomtatott emlékbeszédek-sorozatot, amely az általam feltárt anyag rendszerezett folytatása. Neki köszönhető, hogy több természettudomány esetében elindította ennek történeti feltárását is. Ezt a munkásságát igyekeztem gondosan körüljárni, kutatásom eredményét pedig kötetben közreadni. Harmadik kutatásom, amellyel később egészítettem ki korábbi vállalásaimat, hogy az akadémiai nekrológok és a Szily-hagyaték feldolgozásával együtt összegezni tudtam a tudósi életrajzok legjobb ismerőjének, id. Szinnyei Józsefnek a teljes tudományos munkásságát. A három kutatási anyag ugyanis együtt volt kutatható az Akadémai Könyvtár Kézirattárában, beleértve az egymás között folytatott levelezést is. | In my research on the history of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, I have analysed the obituaries of academicians, to be found in the Old Archives of the Academy, issued by the Office of the General Secretary of the Academy between 1830 and 1890. With the help a database created, the obituaries can be searched on the internet according to various categories. I have kept the original language of the obituaries. My second research was concerned with the work of Kalman Szily senior, who was the General Secretary of the Academy, in the field of history of science. After 1890 Szily started the printed series of obituaries and this can be considered the continuation of my research mentioned in the previous paragraph. He started researching obituaries in several natural sciences and I have analysed this work of Szily and published my findings. In my third research, which I added later to my previous undertakings, I managed to summarise the whole body of work of Jozsef Szinnyei senior, who had the greatest knowledge of scholars' biographies. I did this since the materials for the three topics were held together in the Library of the Academy.
