Abstract
| 3D printing is undergoing significant development today, with product development times greatly accelerated thanks to rapid prototyping, and the production of finished products greatly simplified. However, there are functional surfaces for which accuracy and surface quality cannot be achieved by 3D printing, and must be produced by a subtractive process. In this paper, we investigated the effects of layer thickness and orientation of 3D printed cylindrical workpiece on dimensional accuracy and surface roughness of printed and turned workpieces. The results show that the roughness and accuracy of the printed surface (when using the appropriate correction) has no effect on the roughness of the turned surface, and its value is constant for orientation as a function of layer thickness.
