Abstract

Közülük hatot faji szinten az nrDNS ITS régió szekvencia analízisével, termőtest nélkül sikerült meghatározni. | Ectomycorrhizae are mutualistic symbioses between fungi and the roots of trees. The species of Thelephoraceae (Basidiomycetes) are among the most abundant ectomycorrhizal fungi in needle and broad-leaved forests under moderate climats. Int he deciduous forests of Hungary this group is mainly represented by the species of the genus Tomentella. From Hungarian poplar, oak and beech forests, more than 80 tomentelloid ectomycorrhizae were collected and investigated by microscopical morphological and molecular taxonomical methods. The anatomical description and image documentation of nine unknown tomentelloid morphotypes was completed. Six of them were identifyed to species level in absence of the fruitbodies by sequence analysis of the nrDNA ITS region. Our results were published in five international, three Hungarian periodicals and several national and foreign conferences. From this topic, two MSc and one 1st Prize Student's Conference dissertation was completed, so the results were directly introduced into university education. Our data may support the application of artificial ectomycorrhizae in forestry in Hungary, which would have economical and environmental advantages.
