Abstract
The effects of apertures on the imaging in Makyoh-topography instruments are analysed. It is shown that depending on the actual settings and the type of the instruments, an aperture can limit the size of the image, the size of the studied sample or the maximum surface slope that can be detected. The model is corroborated with experiments.
