Abstract
The output characteristics of a pair of iden- tical antireflection-coated semiconductor lasers placed in a common cavity have been investigated. While in one propagating direction the usual power-current curves were measured, in the opposite one power saturation takes place. The experimental findings are in good agreement with a one-dimensional model for the longitudinal pho- ton and carrier distributions. PACS: 42.55x; 42.60Lh; 42.60Pk;
