Abstract
There are 17 species of this group in Hungary, 13 of them are in Somogy county. In this region there was some systematic surveying in the Boronka-melléki, Barcsi Borókás and Zselici Landscape Protection Area, along the Lake Baláta Nature Conservation Area. Some data came during the surveying of the fauna along the river Dráva. Marián carried out widespread surveying along the lake Baláta, in the Bares Brookes and in the Zselic Landscape Protection Area. In Somogy county there are several different ephemeral and permanent wet areas (wetlands, lakes, reservoirs, oxbows, ponds springs and rivers) most of them has never been surveyed for amphibians fauna. All species, which are supposed to live in the region, were described from the county, except Triturus dobrogicus. The T. dobrogicus and T. cristatus carnifex Laurenti, 1768 and the T. vulgaris meridionalis Boulenger, 1882 can also be expected from the county. The Rana arvalis arvalis (Nilsson, 1854) is only known from Somogy county in Hungary. The Rana ridibunda and R. lessonae were occasionally separated. The Rana kl. esculenta group includes the transient forms and the hybrids too. Since there are in several wet habitats in Somogy county, the Amphibia fauna should be surveyed for sufficient data.
