Abstract
Design as a form of research method reoccurs as a motivational theme behind the design's instigated by Tamás Tomay. Every building being developed as the continuation of a theme or idea leading towards the establishment of a contemporary timelessness. This weekend house project consists of two characters: firstly, the exterior being a continuation of the Bauhaus experiment that adapts to the Balaton region in terms of materials and spatial arrangement. Secondly the interior which Tomay describes as a "private matter" of rational spaces, strong colours and a desire to break away from following conventional architectural styles. This work is best described by Tomay himself "I do architecture that depicts architecture, so in that sense, what I do is deeply conservative."
