Abstract
Instead of following the local house types, found in most Hungarian rural towns, this home appears to be a friendly visitor. Following local typology for the vernacular would not lead to a successful development in this case as values for living have been changed, therefore the house type must change, adapting to the times. Yet on closer inspection this is a traditional semi-detached home, making use of its location, build density and the tendency for this type of development in recent years. The brave element being the visual impact afforded by this atrium house in its difference to the surrounding types.
