Abstract
The Látrányi Puszta Nature Conservation Area covers more than 220 hectares and it can be found in the sub-region of Western Outer Somogy. A minor section of the area is covered by woods, the major part is covered by sandy grassland and fresh meadows. The number of longhorn beetle species found on the surveyed area is 47, which represents 23% of the Hungarian fauna. It is especially important to protect and sustain black dogwood (Rhamnus) since it provides habitat for the larvae of a rather rare horn beetle (Menesia bipunctata). Among the rare species it is worth mentioning: Leptura aurulenta, Stenhomalus bicolor, Acanthocinus griseus, Menesia bipunctata. The protected species are: Acanthocinus aedilis, Oberea pedemontana and Calamobius fllum.
