Abstract
The article presents the examination of factors influencing local housing market price levels, carried out on a database of nearly two hundred Hungarian towns and the twenty-three Budapest districts. The analysis is based on the simple assumption that local housing markets are more isolated than other goods markets. Consequently, the differences of local price levels may be explained by the various social, economic and geographical characteristics of settlements.
