Abstract
A katonaorvostan csak a XX. század eleje óta önálló szakága az orvostudománynak, de a háborúk tapasztalatainak feldolgozása, a mindennapok orvoslásában való alkalmazása, már az ókori háborúk óta folyamatos és természetes. A Magyar Honvédség a megszületése pillanatától kiemelt figyelmet fordított arra, hogy a tudományos élet részese legyen és hozzájáruljon a magyar egészségügy fejlődéséhez, elismertségéhez. A különböző elnevezésű szerveződések, tudományos fórumok, egyesületek és társaságok mindegyike ezt a célt szolgálta. A jelenlegi Magyar Katonai- Katasztrófaorvostani Társaság példás, tiszteletreméltó és gazdag történelmi múlttal rendelkezik, amelyet működő tudományos társaság immáron 30. évfordulóján megtisztelő és kötelező feladat feleleveníteni. = Although military medicine became an independent branch of medicine only in the early 20th century, analysis of the experiences of wars and their routine implementation in treatment is a continuous and natural practice since ancient wars. From the moment of it’s birth, the Hungarian Defence Forces paid special attention to being part of the scientific life and to contribute to development and recognition of Hungarian healthcare. Organizations, scientific forums, associations and societies under different names all served this purpose. ~e Hungarian Society of Military and Disaster Medicine in it’s present form has an exemplary, respectable and rich history. Reviewing these events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the current scientific society is an honorable and obligatory task.
