Abstract
Underground muography has a high potential for exploring natural cave systems. While developments in geophysical technologies and devices were enormous, the discovery of hidden caverns is still demanding. If the density map of a hill could be measured via muography the negative anomalies would indicate the unexplored caves. For underground operation the high performance muon tracker shall be lightweight for portability, while durable as well in the humid environment. Modified multi-wire chambers could be used as tracking elements, and be coupled to low-power data acquisition. Such muography systems were successfully operated in several natural and artificial cave systems, both for confirmation measurements and exploration as well. Multiple muograms could locate the hidden caverns in three dimension, as was done with this state-of-the-art technology.
