Abstract
The protected European beaver, due to results of repatriation programmes, also spontaneously appeared in Hungary. These individuals may reached Hungary from the populations of neighbour countries (Austria, Croatia) by spreading. Occurrence of beaver was only detected in one point, on the watersmeet of Drava and Mura rivers, during monitoring the Somogy county wetlands of Danube-Drava National Park and only one inner-somogy occasion is known. The study is illustrated with 4 pictures.
