Abstract

The main goal of the above rather dry list was to take the first tentative step towards the acutely needed classification of the accumulated archaeological material. Based on my own research, I shall here outline the conclusions that can be drawn for the belt sets with figural ornament. The analysis is based on the personal examination of the ornament and composition of 571 objects, all of which were separately drawn. The most interesting pieces were also analysed using magnified interpretative drawings. The distribution of individual types was mapped. The map showing the workshop areas were based on the comparison and analysis of these maps.
