Abstract
HOME, MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA, USA; ARCHITECT: AB ARCHITECTS Working to modernize a 1950s wood cabin located at a quarry near the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountain range. Wooden decks link the homes parts to its landscape and pool, bordered by boulders. The restored house remembers its past qualities, connection to social history and the locally quarried stone. The composition of its windows informed possibly by Frank Lloyd Wright or the modernism of Mies van de Rohe, always connecting to the immediate landscape. Speaking of location in both place and time.
