Abstract

Cél: A MIT Press kiadó Essential Knowledge sorozatában megjelenő Antikorrupció című könyv kompakt, érdekes és naprakész információkat nyújt az olvasó számára. Eddig az MIT könyvismertető sorozatában a következő művek kerültek bemutatásra:: Neuroplaszticitás (Németh, 2021a), Anticorruption (Németh, 2021b), Együttműködő társadalom (Németh & Szabo, 2022), Kritikus gondolkodás (Németh, 2022a), Beaviour Insight (Fazekas-Pátyodi, 2023). Módszertan: A kiadványt a téma egyik legelismertebb szakértője írta, olyan nyelven, amelyet a témában nem járatos laikusok is könnyedén megértenek. Így valóban felhasználhatók az egyes témakörök aktuális kutatási adatai és eredményei más szakterületek képviselői számára is. Manapság nem könnyű megtalálni a világhálón megszerezhető végtelen információhalmazban azokat az adatokat és összefüggéseket, amelyek egy adott témáról megbízható és koherens ismereteket biztosítanak (Tidor, 2020). Megállapítások: A széria jelen kötetének témája a korrupcióellenes küzdelem, és annak globális összefüggései. Az írás az antikorrupciós küzdelem jelenlegi eredményeit és helyzetét mutatja be. A jelenlegi téma aktualitását jól szemlélteti a Világbank ide vonatkozó becslése: „A világ nagy része korrupcióval fertőzött, Afrika, Ázsia és Latin-Amerika nagy részein az egy főre jutó éves GDP 3 százaléka eltűnik. Még Észak-Amerika sem védtelen. A Világbank szerint globálisan 1 billió vagy több dollárt veszít évente a korrupció miatt.” (Rotberg, 2020). Értékek: A könyv átfogó és adatokkal alátámasztott képet nyújt a világban folyó korrupciós folyamatokról. Továbbá bemutatja az egyes korrupciós folyamatok megszüntetésére tett kísérleteket is. = Aim: The MIT Press Essential Knowledge series provides the reader with accessible, concise, yet interesting and completely up-to-date information. Till now, we have reviewed the following members of the series: Neuroplasticity (Németh, 2021a), Anticorruption (Németh, 2021b), Collaborative Society (Németh & Szabo, 2022), Critical Thinking (Németh, 2022a), Behavioral Insight (Fazekas-Pátyodi, 2023). Methodology: Each part was written by excellent experts on the subject, in a language understood by non-experts, too. In this way, the current research data and results in the field of each topic can be really used. Nowadays, it is not easy to find in the endless set of information obtainable on the World Wide Web those that essentially provide the fundamental knowledge on a particular topic (Tidor, 2020). Findings: The topic of the present volume of the series is the anticorruption, as a world phenomenon, its current development and situation. And the topicality of the current theme is perhaps duly justified by the following World Bank estimate: “Much of the globe is infected with corruption, sapping as much as 3 percent of annual per capita GDP in large swathes of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Even North America is hardly immune. The World Bank says that $1 trillion or more is lost each year to corruption, globally.” (Rotberg, 2020). Values: The book provides a comprehensive and data-supported picture of corruption processes in the world. Furthermore, it also presents the attempts to eliminate individual corruption processes.
