Abstract
The thomisid genus Bassaniodes Pocock, 1903 is recorded for the first time from India. The species Bassaniodes tristrami (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1872) is redescribed based on specimens collected from the Thar desert, India and information on the species' natural history is presented.
