Abstract

In this study I will try to present the principles of the activities and the major indicators of the voluntary health saving fund in order to analyze its future role, perspectives and problems. The goal of my in-depth interview research was to identify and explore the problems in the field of voluntary insurance. During the interviewing process I took into account the criteria formulated by the data recording methodology, using semi-structured questions during the interviews, which then were recorded. The record- ed text was then subjected to content analysis. The analysis of the in-depth interview research material revealed that there was a need to define the concept of voluntary insurance and convert already existing phenomena into a theory. As far as the „supplemen- tary health insurance” market is concerned, we can say that there are institutions working side by side within the system without making the effort to cooperate. Although market players are aware of the benefits of synergy, they do not use it in practice.
