Abstract

A Savoia-Marchetti SM.75 Marsupiale eredetileg hárommotoros utaszszállítónak készült, 24 utas részére. Az elsőnek megérkezett gép a magyar polgári légiforgalomban 1936-ban repült. Rövid 3 éves polgári szolgálat után a Magyar Királyi Honvéd Légierő 1939 szeptemberében átvette és hadiszolgálatba állította. Az 5 gépből a légierő 4 gépet ejtőernyős deszantszállítóvá alakított és védőfegyverzettel látott el, 1 gépet pedig sebesültszállítóvá. A sebesültszállító fedélzetén 8 fekvő és 4 ülő beteget tudtak elhelyezni. Az ejtőernyős deszantszállító változatot a Jugoszlávia elleni hadműveletben, a mentős és deszantszállító gépeket pedig a Szovjetunió elleni hadműveletekben vetették be. A típussal történt két halálos katasztrófa után az SM.75 gépeket kivonták a hadrendből. The Savoia-Marchetti SM.75 Marsupiale was originally designed as a three-engine passenger transport aircraft for 24 passengers. The first plane to arrive in Hungarian civil air traffic flew in 1936. After a short 3-year civilian service, the Royal Hungarian Air Force took over the type in September 1939 and put it into military service. Of the five planes, the Air Force converted four ones into transport aircraft for airborne troops and equipped them with protective weapons, and one plane into a casualty transport version. The ambulance plane was able to accommodate eight litter and 4 sitting patients. The paratrooper variant was used in the operation against Yugoslavia, and the ambulance and paratrooper transport aircraft were used in the operation against the Soviet Union. After two fatal disasters with the type, the SM.75 planes were withdrawn from service.
