Abstract

Az elemzés arra törekszik, hogy átfogó képet nyújtson a több évtizede húzódó karabahi konfliktusról, és bemutassa a szeptember közepén zajló sikeres azerbajdzsáni támadáshoz vezető utat, illetve annak fényében a jövőbeni kilátásokat a terület és a lakosság számára. Az elemzés szerint Azerbajdzsán az eredménytelen béketárgyalások miatt folyamatosan fokozta a régióra nehezedő katonai nyomást, végül a 2023. szeptember 19-én indított támadással átütő sikert ért el, s a karabahi örmény vezetés kapitulált. Noha egyelőre még sok a bizonytalanság a terület reintegrációját illetően, jelenleg az örmény lakosság elvándorlása zajlik a Lacsin korridoron keresztül Örményország felé. A közeljövőben valószínűleg a karabahi örmény lakosság létszáma a töredékére esik vissza, és teljes mértékben helyre fog állni az azerbajdzsáni kontroll. | The analysis aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the decades-long conflict in Karabakh and to present the path leading to the attack on Azerbaijan in mid-September, as well as the prospects for the territory and its population after its success. According to the analysis, due to the ineffective peace negotiations, Azerbaijan continuously increased the military pressure on the region, finally achieving a resounding success with the attack it launched on September 19, 2023, and the Armenian leadership in Karabakh capitulated. Although there is still a lot of uncertainty regarding the reintegration of the area, the exodus of the Armenian population is currently taking place through the Lachin corridor towards Armenia. In the near future, the Armenian population of Karabakh will probably decrease to a fraction and Azerbaijani control will be fully restored.
