Abstract
Poetry has not only to do with mathematics in terms of order and harmony – poetry and the mathematical solution are also said to be “beautiful” – but it appears in its theme, composition, visual image (calligram and its topological reading) or in abstraction and in its philosophical (ontological) nature. Concepts such as combinatorics (Queneau’s Hundred Thousand Billion Sonnets), permutation (Weöres), and metaphor can also be interpreted as intersections of sets. Geometric shapes and mathematical relationships may also appear in calligrams. The author is a poet and writer. He examines the mathematical attitudes that appear in poetry not from the point of view of mathematics, but from the point of view of poetry.
