Abstract
Investigating the seasonal alterations of Ca-, K-, Na-, and Cl-ions in the haemolymph of Anodonta, the following results were obtained: 1. All the examined ions exhibit seasonal changes. 2. The seasonal alterations of Ca- and K-ions are directed oppositely: the highest concentration of Ca-ions was measured in winter, the lowest in spring and summer, while in th ecase of K-ions the maximum value can be determined in the summer months and the minimum in the winter months. 3. The seasonal alterations of Na- and Cl-ions are about the same. 4. The method for determining Ca and Cl can be carried out rapidly and with ease, therefore, it is suitable to estimate the concentration of Ca- and Cl-ion in other biological objects, too.
