Abstract

Napjainkban a benfotiamin a neuropathiás károsodások oki kezelésének egyik alapgyógyszere. Bár mind hatásmechanizmusa, mind klinikai alkalmazási lehetőségei jól körvonalazottak, ismereteink folyamatosan gyarapszanak. A közlemény áttekinti klinikai farmakológiája és biokémiai hatásai főbb jellemzőit, valamint az adásával kapcsolatos újabb kísérletes és klinikai megfigyeléseket. Rámutat, hogy a hatóanyag kedvező mellékhatás-spektruma és sokoldalú alkalmazhatósága folytán indikációs köre várhatóan tovább bővülhet majd. | Today, benfotiamine is one of the basic drugs for the causal treatment of neuropathic lesions.Although both its mechanism of action and its clinical applications are well outlined, our knowledge is constantly growing. The paper reviews the main features of the drugs clinical pharmacology and biochemical effects, and reviews recent experimental and clinical observations. It is pointed out, that the range of indications is expected to expand further due to the favorable side effect spectrum and versatility of the active substance.
