Abstract

Az utóbbi években a megváltozott klíma komoly kihívások elé állította a zöldfelületeken megtalálható növényállományt. A fokozódó növényegészségügyi problémák mellett az időjárás extrém jelenségei is nehezítik a fák életét a városban. A lakosság aggódva figyeli az orkán erejű szélben mozgó lombkoronát, vagy a törzsön kialakuló odvasodásokat. Ugyanakkor társadalmi ’elvárás’ – valamint a fenntarthatóság szempontjából is fontos érdek – a városi fák életének meghosszabbítása a kivágásuk helyett. Mit tehetünk? Elsőként a probléma ’gyökerét’ kell feltárnunk, melyre – többek között – az alábbiakban ismertetett módszerek állnak a faápoló szakemberek rendelkezésére. In recent years, the changed climate has posed serious challenges to the plant stock found on green areas. In addition to increasing plant health problems, extreme weather events also make life difficult for trees in the city. Residents are worried about canopies moving in hurricane-force winds, or the hollows that form on the trunk. At the same time, it is a social 'expectation' - as well as an important interest from the point of view of sustainability - to extend the life of urban trees instead of cutting them down. What can we do? First, we have to uncover the 'root' of the problem, for which, among other things, the methods described below are available to tree care professionals.
