Abstract

A Pálos Rend az egyetlen magyar alapítású férfi szerzetesrend, így kiemelkedő helyet foglal el a magyar történelemben. A rend történetének behatóbb megismerése céljából a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem Régészettudományi Intézetének vezetésével 2014 óta tanásatások folynak a balatonszemesi Mindszent pálos kolostor területén (1. kép). Ezen munka során Árpád-kori településnyomok is előkerültek az utóbbi években, ami azért lényeges, mivel a pálosok renddé szerveződésük körüli időszakából kevés forrással rendelkezünk. Az itt előkerült Árpád-kori objektumok és leletanyag értékelése, összevetve az írott forrásokkal, azonban közelebb vihet bennünket a rend korai történetének megismeréséhez. The Pauline Order is the only Hungarian-founded male monastic order, thus holding a prominent place in Hungarian history. For a more in-depth understanding of the order's history, excavations have been carried out since 2014, led by the Institute of Archaeology at Pázmány Péter Catholic University for the research of the Pauline Monastery in Mindszent, Balatonszemes (1. picture). In connection with this, settlement traces from the Árpádian era have been unearthed in recent years. The significance of this is that there are few sources available from that period about the organization of the Paulines as an order. Examining the Árpádian objects and artifacts discovered here, in conjunction with written sources, can bring us closer to understanding the early history of the order.
