Abstract
A “mussel actograph” suitable for the simultaneous registration of the activities of five mussels placed in separate containers was described. With the aid of the device of 17 mm/hour paper velocity provided with ink levers, the activity of the adductor muscle of the animals can be continuously recorded for a longer period, even for some months. In the course of examinations a continuous change of water can be ensured according to requirements for all animals or various effects can be applied on the mussels kept separated from each other.
