Abstract

Kutatásom során a különböző tapasztalati tanulás alapú outdoor módszerek szociális munka elméletében és gyakorlatában való megjelenését vizsgáltam magyarországi fókusszal. Szakértői interjúkat készítettem praktizáló szociális munkás szakemberekkel: az outdoor módszerekről, a természeti környezet és a szociális munka kapcsolatáról, ezen témákkal kapcsolatos tapasztalataikról és véleményükről kérdeztem őket. Interjúalanyaimat előzetes ismereteim és hólabda módszer alapján kerestem meg, ügyelve arra, hogy a szociális munka minél több területére betekintést nyerhessek. A kutatás alapján elmondható, hogy a szociális munka alkalmazott módszereinek készlete szerteágazó, ezek kiválasztásánál az ügyfélcsoport sajátosságai és igényei mellett az adott intézménynél dolgozó kollégák személyes érdeklődése és „hozott eszköztára”, valamint a finanszírozási lehetőségek egyaránt fontos tényezők. Vizsgálatom fókuszában a tapasztalati tanulás alapú outdoor módszerek: élménypedagógia, outdoor tréning, vadon- és kalandterápiás eszközök állnak. Ezek közül leginkább az (indoor) élménypedagógia jelenik meg a hazai szociális munkások által alkalmazott módszerek között. A szabadtér, a természeti környezet szakmai munkába való bevonása leginkább rekreációs és szabadidős programok terén jelenik meg, és függ az adott intézmény sajátosságaitól és az érintett szakember(ek) természethez való személyes viszonyától is. Az új módszerek megismerése és alkalmazása iránt nagyfokú nyitottság tapasztalható a kérdezett szakemberek részéről, ahogyan a fenntarthatóság és környezetvédelem szakmai munkába való bevonása iránt is. | T In this research, focusing on Hungary, I investigated how different experiential learning based outdoor methods are presented in the practice of social work. I made expert interviews with practicing social work professionals: I asked them about the methods they use, the relationship betveen the natural environment and social work, their experience and opinion of these topics. I found ma interviewees based on snowball-sampling with specific emphasis on gaining an insight into as many fields of social work as possible. Based on the research, it could be said that the methodology toolbox used in social work is diverse. When selecting one or another method, besides the needs and characteristics of the given client group, equally important factors are the interests and skillsets of the colleagues working at a given institution as well as the financing opportunities. The focus of my research was on methods based on experiential learning: outdoor experiential education, outdoor training, wilderness and adventure therapy tools. Out of these is mostly (indoor) experiential learning/education that is found among the methods used by Hungarian social workers. Involving the outdoors and the natural environment in professional work, mostly happens in the area of recreational and free-time activities and depends upon the characteristics of the institution and the personal connection to nature of the professionals in question. A high level of interest and openness has been demonstrated in terms of learning and applying new methods as well as including sustainability and environmmental protection in professional work.
