Abstract
Examples were given of fasciation and kindred teratism obtained in different plants by the administration of polyploidizing and some other agents. It was shown' that these phenomena, although mostly connected with the oncogenic and polyploidizing actions of the substances used, are not exclusively conditioned by them. It was also demonstrated that the responses elicited are in a great measure independent of the chemical constitution of the agents used. Attention was drawn to the endemic, serial emergence of the teratism observed, to their evolutionary significance, and to the possible importance of induced teratisms from the point of view of plant breeding.
