Abstract

Az 1990-es évek óta egyre inkább a figyelem középpontjába és ezzel együtt újragondolásra kerül a krónikus betegek és a fogyatékosok egészségügyi, szociális, pénzbeli ellátása, életminősége, jogállása, és általában társadalmi integrációja. A fogyatékkal, krónikus betegséggel élőkkel kapcsolatos egyik meghatározó diskurzus a szakirodalomban a szegénység és társadalmi kirekesztés problémája köré tematizálódott. | The social integration of those living with disabilities/chronic illnesses in Hungary has become a major issue both in public and professional discourse. The issue has gained importance because of the unsustainability of the Hungarian social security system, instead of focusing on social exclusion, poverty and stigmatisation. Employment is very important both for the community and the individual, not just because of income but for social, health and other structural reasons. In times of economic crisis, the labour market position of ordinary people is unstable; therefore, the occupational rehabilitation of people with disabilities/chronic illnesses is far from being unproblematic. In this contribution, two private employment agencies are presented, which are very successful at providing integrated employment services. Since employment agencies are very specific organisations strongly connected to other social services, I also give an overview on their organisational structures along with their specific ethos. For this reason, I investigate the innovative role and involvement of NGOs in the processes of privatising state functions. In doing so, I am focusing on people diagnosed with psychiatric disorders, because their social exclusion is visible in employment statistics.
