Abstract
The Tisza family’s residence traces its path back over 300 years at this palace in the rural border town of Geszt. Home to two previous prime ministers, a location troubled by war and questionable debate about national borders, has finally been restored to its former splendour. A process which followed a path of development that combines aspects of monumental building restoration and the intervention of contemporary building elements. Existing spaces being restored in a manner which can be described as historically correct, whilst reviously disused spaces such as the attic space have been given a new lease of life and function.
