Abstract
A beszámoló szerzőjéről, Priskos rhétorról nagyon kevés információval rendelkezünk. Más szerzők néhány elszórt adatából és saját töredékesen fennmaradt Historia Byzantina című művéből deríthető ki életének néhány fontosabb állomása. A keletrómai császár követét Maximinost kísérete el 449-ben Attila udvarába, és feljegyzéseinek köszönhetően ismerhetjük meg a hun nagykirály udvarát és az itt lezajlott diplomáciai tárgyalásokat.
