Abstract

During thejcourse of road construction to the north of the township of Sávoly, celtic graves were discovered in the spring of 1953. Grave No. 1 was completely destroyed by the bulldozer and the finds were collected by Ida B. Kutzián, However, grave No. 2 was left intact by the road workers. The staff of the Balaton Museum in the town of Keszthely uncovered the grave. Part of a mug was also found above grave No. 2. Furthermore, in 1958, a bronze bracelet was also found in this area and has been added to the collection in the Balaton Museum. The examination results of the anthropological finds in grave No. 2 have already been published. ; The orientation position of the graves was a southnorth direction and contained female skeletons. The finds date the burial time towards the end of the LT/Ct period. The bronze fibulas and the embossed ring bracelet were the best guidance in helping trace the date. This type of bracelet is quite rare among a host of „uniform" finds so it is quite possible that it had been in fashion only for a short time.
