Abstract

A településhálózat pusztásodásának folyamata a Kárpát-medencében már a török kort megelőző évszázadok során elkezdődött és kiteljesedett. A települések ritkulása és rendszerük tartós átrendeződése a korábbi századokban bizonyította, hogy a pusztásodás jelensége nem homogén földrajzi képlet, hanem korról korra változó térbeli jelenség. Módosulásának okai éppoly sokrétűek, mint megjelenési formái, melyek között megtalálhatóak a hadtörténelmi kapcsolódásúak is. Az utóbbiak változatai két tényezőtől, a Kárpát-medence egyéb geográfiai faktoraitól, valamint a hadügy uralkodó képleteitől függenek. Így a pusztásodás egyes történelmi időszakokban a hadtörténeti földrajz szemléletmódjának alkalmazásával leírható. | The process of desolation dominated the settlement network of the Carpathian Basin before the age of Turkish invasion. The advance of the Turkish state creates a new period in desolation. Its main characteristic, the thinning of the settlement network, remained dominant. However, its most defining element became the defense mechanism of society. Desolation intensified during the Turkish era and was closely related to the trends of military affairs. The military thinking of the time, the martial art of Methodism, and the synergy of the organic frontier had a significant effect on the desolation. Desolation and the destruction of territories became a geographical factor.
